Because gross humans. Consumers.

Very sad!

No wetlands = no food.

My guess: pollution or something in their water. Maybe aggressive bacteria (No duh, right). Stop using antibacterial soap. Just wash your hands well!

I would put that number closer to 6 million.

Omg

I think it's obvious the pollutants are killing the mussels. Pesticides

Trump is flushing his toilet too many times. They just couldn't handle the stress on their little systems any longer I guess...

No one knows why Are you serious!!

I'm guessing viral or bacterial causation.

Not sure? Where’s the fisheries dept. in this?

We are failing our ecosystem, Mother Earth is taking back her resources.

And people eat them. Never got that. Sure chemicals in them and maybe enough is enough. Sad and sick how filthy we are.

SouthWEST Virgina?!?

Why? Because humans. It's either chemical pollution, lack of nutrients, a collapsing food web, or invasive species. One way or another, it is caused by us, just like almost every other ecological problem happening in the world right now.

we will remember each one of them because we have mussel memory

Because humans are idiots?! 🤷🏼‍♀️

NotCantOrWont colour_proof this is happening around your neck of the woods frens. 😭

C71Marie ASK TRUMP!

'And nobody knows why...'

timkaine MarkWarnerVA Happening in your state's waters.
