Pence had a shot at the nomination but it would have required him to be emphatic that Trump attempted a coup and that he, Pence, stood in defense of the Constitution on 1/6 and later by testifying. But, he didn’t do that. Which shows who controls the GOP and why he won’t ever win

Politicians have the most outsized egos this side of Hollywood, which causes certain distortions of reality.. Pence needs to realize that it's just not gonna happen. He's damaged goods. Trump too, for that matter
