A Houston developer is detailing plans for a North Dallas high-rise site.
In January, apartment builder Hanover Co. acquired the almost 2-acre property on Northwest Highway near Preston Road.deadly condominium building fire in 2017. Hanover bought the property from the condominium association. And Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance provided an $86.8 million loan for the property purchase and to construct the new building.
Hanover now says the apartment high-rise will cost more than $118 million to build, according to planning documents filed with the state. The 23-story multifamily high-rise will have 213 rental units, and construction will start this summer. The building won’t open until 2025, the state filings say.Hanover previously built the 1900 McKinney apartment tower in Uptown Dallas and the Cirque high-rise in Victory Park. The developer is also working on another development site on Turtle Creek.
But will the rent be affordabale? Or is this just another gift to the ultra rich white folks of Dallas?
