It’s easier for kids and some families to enter the United States, but most single adults are still being turned away at the border.

thousands of asylum-seekers who were told to wait in Mexico for their court dates under a controversial Trump-era policy, a process unrelated to last month’s spike in illegal crossings.U.S. Customs and Border Protection made on the southern border last month, a 28% jump from January and the highest figure since June of 2019.

About 9,400 were unaccompanied minors , over 19,000 crossed with family members , and almost 72,000 were single adults . Those figures include people who tried to cross multiple times in the same month, so the actual number of migrants trying to enter the country is likely lower.
