The Premier League's planned restart on June 17 received a further boost on Saturday when the latest batch of novel coronavirus tests produced no positive results.

LONDON - The Premier League’s planned restart on June 17 received a further boost on Saturday when the latest batch of novel coronavirus tests produced no positive results.

No Premier League matches have been played since March but the league said on Thursday that the season will restart on June 17 provided all safety requirements have been met. The Premier League’s Chief Executive Richard Masters said he welcomed the government’s announcement but said there was still work to be done to “ensure the safety of everyone involved”.

“We could not have reached this point without the full support of the Government, especially DCMS, Public Health England and the Chief Medical Officer’s team.“If all goes well, we will be thrilled to resume the 2019/20 season in just over two weeks’ time.”

Coronavirus Hits Small-Town Summer: No Riverfront Days, No Little League World SeriesThe coronavirus has forced Williamsport, Pa., to cancel the Little League World Series, and summer festivals from Riverfront Days in Decatur, Neb., to the RC Cola MoonPie Festival in Bell Buckle, Tenn., are a scratch The coronavirus didn't. Fear mongering bureaucrats did, with aid from their media lapdogs. Everyone knows this is true. Some just want to weaponize the lie for their own agenda. This sucks. They should work out unofficial games. Demand communities open up to use facilities or every city in America will look like Minneapolis. You cannot cage the youth in America and not expect disastrous consequences. I fear the anarchy on the horizon more than Covid. But folks can riot all bight across the country 🙄
