Our epidemic of loneliness hits at one of our deepest needs.In a recent high school alumni newsletter that I received in the mail, a classmate wrote an essay about our English teacher, and next to the article was a photograph of a girl to the right, the teacher in the middle, and me sitting on the other side of the picture. The report concludes we need to create socially connected communities. I always wondered what would happen if we created a nursing home, a preschool and an animal shelter all in one modern complex.
