SINGAPORE—At least nine people were killed as Myanmar’s new military rulers, who overthrew its democratically-elected government Feb. 1, continue to unleash a lethal campaign to suppress protests against the coup that have swept the country for nearly a month.in which at least 18 people died after police opened fire. On Wednesday, police responded to protests with live ammunition in numerous cities, according to demonstrators and medics responding to the violence. Two people were killed in Mandalay in central Myanmar, including a 19-year-old woman who was shot in the head, according to two rescue groups at the scene.
