This holiday season, both Sony and Microsoft are scheduled to launch next-gen versions of their PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
When "Fortnite" and "Destiny 2" arrive on next-gen platforms, all your stuff from the current generation will transfer over. Additionally, you'll be able to play those games on next-gen consoles with players on the prior generation — a huge change for how games have traditionally worked.
"We plan to support cross-progression across console generations and platforms so that your account, progression, and items carry over," the studio behind "Fortnite," Epic Games, Until now, the move to a new console generation often meant leaving the last one behind, a precedent set decades ago, when the Nintendo Entertainment System was succeeded by the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The games you bought, and the save data from those games, stayed locked to whatever console generation they originally launched on.

XboxP3 I'm actually really excited about this cause my wife won't HAVE to buy a Series X just so we can play Halo when I upgrade my console. I imagine it's the same story for lots of couples and siblings and friends.

aarongreenberg That's one of the biggest experiences and exciting things I can't wait to try myself. If E3 was happening and I was attending I probably would of tried to get my hands on playing the Series X myself.

XboxP3 Phil Spencer,plz make a contract with WB super heroe games and content because Sony puts out exclusive content only on PS and we dont get that as well. The reason is Sony has a contract with WB. I love superhero games and I want all the content that PS has.
