Newly jobless Americans worry about making ends meet

- Optician Ali Nelson sent the final few orders of eyeglasses to clients last week before her Washington D.C.-based store closed to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The maximum offered in the District of Columbia – just about $450 a week – won’t be enough to cover her rent in Fairfax County, Virginia, much less health insurance, groceries and utilities. How much money out-of-work Americans should get remained a stumbling block to the bill passing on Wednesday. Currently, U.S. unemployment benefits usually amount to half of a worker’s previous pay, less than in most other developed countries.

However, the generosity of the U.S. program, which is administered by states, varies across the country.

I'm sure they still Thank God that America isn't a 'Socialist' country (apparently a proper safety net is Socialist). Most of the $1,200 Trump is giving them will become useless as inflation rises rapidly and supplies run short. But at least they'll still have their God and Guns.

Unemployment checks without the 1 week wait period and an additional $600 a week for 4 months or until this 'virus' event is over will give them HOPE... Skyrocketing applications for unemployment insurance will sink the stock market tomorrow morning....
