- The New York State Nurses Association sued the state and two hospitals on Monday to force them to provide equipment and adopt safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among the association’s members in the hard-hit state.
“These lawsuits were filed to protect our nurses, our patients and our communities from grossly inadequate and negligent protections,” said a statement from Pat Kane, the association’s executive director.
Hospital admin is another exposed disgrace why they cant or wont get adequate equipment is about more money in their pockets. I can get pleanty of legitimate n95 masks, & respirators, surgical gloves, sanitizer at a local gas station ! Its criminal how they treat nurses.

I hope they win. These are the real front line workers as doctors sit in lounges, review charts on their laptops, and treat patients based on a 10 minute bedside visit.
Why don’t they have ppe? Because hospitals are a business and they are required to buy from medical supply wholesalers at a 500% mark up. They don’t have ppe because it costs too much to have extra stocked up. Want to by a chair for an er? It’s 1000.
I agree isn't the Federal Government the culprit in PPEshortage since TrumpAdministration sent 17.8 tons of medicalsupplies to Ch8na on Feb 7, 2020.
They should sue the federal government for that.
