. The mandate, which has prompted numerous lawsuits, is set to end on Friday after the city’s Board of Health adopts amendments to the city’s vaccination policy, City Hall said in a news release. “With more than 96% of city workers and more than 80 percent of New Yorkers having received their primary Covid-19 series and more tools readily available to keep us healthy, this is the right moment for this decision.
Former Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the Covid-19 vaccine requirement for all city workers in summer 2021 and it took effect that September. Employees who did not comply with the vaccine requirement or submit to weekly testing for Covid-19 risked losing their jobs. At the time, the policy was met with opposition from the city’s police and firefighter unions, which called the requirement an intrusion into personal health decisions.
we have one amazing woman to thank! She wears a flower crown and is at every single protest for 3 yrs .. She lost her job . She is i believe a nurse. i hope she’s working again . Flower crown where are you?
Are they rehiring all of the employees that got fired for not getting it? If not then this is not news since all current employees already got it so it doesn’t matter. 💉🐑
Shame on the unions for allowing it
What recourse do those who were forced to be vaxxed against their will have against the city? people were given no choice, and now the mandate has ended and those who gave into the pressure have to live with the consequences for the rest of their lives.
Should have never been mandated at all period!
But…..but safe and effective though…..
Pfizer & Moderna need to up their lobbying-game. I have stocks, damn it!
