New York City's $1,400 pre-paid debit card payments to migrants gets a boost from millennial voters, according to a new poll.On Friday, a new poll from Redfield & Wilton Strategies of 974 eligible voters in New York City, conducted exclusively for Newsweek, asked an array of questions about issues facing the city and the nation overall, including how they feel about migrants receiving pre-paid debit cards 'to the total of $1,400 a month.
The pilot is expected to eventually roll out to 500 people in total, Politico previously reported.Last month, New York City Deputy Mayor for Communications Fabien Levy stated that the cards should not be considered 'free money.''These are not ATM cards. You can't take cash out,' Levy said.The poll also found that among all eligible New York City voters surveyed, 38 percent support, with 19 percent saying 'strongly support' and 19 percent saying 'support.
