Photos: The New York City Dyke March defiantly marks its 30th anniversarySelf-described as 'a protest march, not a parade,' the New York City Dyke March marked its 30th anniversary on Saturday, making its way from Bryant Park to Washington Square Park sans permits in a show of individuality, community and timely defiance. A beautifully written article The slides are 90% lesbian couples. I didn't know that lesbian couples could accidentally get pregnant when they have sex together without birth control. Is this unique to Manhattan or is it something that's happened nationwide & I just wasn't aware? What are they defying? Honest question.

What the U.S. Supreme Court gun ruling could mean for mass transit in New York CityWhat does the U.S. Supreme Court's gun ruling mean for mass transit in New York City? May I shoot the guy who exposes himself to me? May I shoot the guy who grabs my ass? May I shoot the guy who smells my hair? These are not theoretical instances. It means New Yorkers will be able to protect themselves on the floyded NYC transit Gunfire on a crowded train will injure many who aren't even shot. But turnstiles aren't metal detectors, so impossible to enforce. More guns on subway--very reassuring.
