With over 40K blacked out, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo rips Con Edison: 'They should have been better prepared'New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo slammed electricity company Con Edison as thousands of people were without power Sunday night amid dangerously hot weather.

About 46,000 New York City customers were without power at 9 p.m. EDT because of the persistent heat and high power use just one week after a transformer fire turned off the lights for nearly 75,000 people. The majority of Sunday's scattered blackouts were in the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens.

Majority of Americans don't really care about a power outage in New York. Sorry, you all are not nearly as important as you think.

They, NYC was worried about this. Not a massive blackout, could have been far worse...but annoying enough. Insane heat was too much this weekend for the grid?
