New York City is scrambling to improve wait times for coronavirus tests—crucial to keeping the pandemic at bay as the city reopens and New Yorkers flock back to restaurants, stores and public spaces like zoos

The city has encouraged residents to get tested as part of an ambitious tracing program to locate, isolate and track down anyone who may have come into

contact with those stricken with Covid-19. More than 30,000 people have been tested on some days in the city, but slow results have prompted New Yorkers...
