All eyes are on the White House as the nation prepares for the transition of presidential power. Among the things being closely watched is how President Donald Trump will handle presidential pardons as he closes out his term. In a December 8, New York Attorney General Letitia James indicated that even if Trump finds a way to receive a pardon for the federal charges he’s facing, he’s still liable to face charges for state crimes in New York.

"What he could do is step down and allow the vice president — Vice President Pence — to pardon him."
