New video shows police shooting in I-5 chase of man accused of killing 2, abducting son

Police had gotten into a freeway gunfight with Elias Huizar who police said had killed two people in the state of Washington and then abducted his 1-year-old son, which prompted an Amber Alert and this chase.

A clerk at a Portland Plaid Pantry spotted 39-year-old Elias Huizar with his son in the early morning hours of April 23. The clerk called 911.In the edited OSP video, officers can be heard as they tried to pull Huizar over, but he took off. Police also said they later found Huizar’s 17-year-old girlfriend dead in his home. Her baby was with Huizar and that was what prompted the Amber Alert.

“Fire! He’s firing! He’s firing!” a trooper can be heard on the video. "23-12, shots fired at me! I'm good, I think!"
