, Blumhouse is now developing a new My Bloody Valentine movie. No further details are available at this time, and it’s unclear whether it will serve as a sequel to the older film or a remake.Directed by George Mihalka, the original My Bloody Valentine movie was released in 1981. It starred Paul Kelman, Lori Hallier, Neil Affleck, Cynthia Dale, Don Francks, and Keith Knight. While it wasn’t a big box office hit at the time, My Bloody Valentine developed a cult following over the years.
“On Valentine’s Day, someone always loses their heart,” the description of the 1981 movie reads. “Twenty years ago, this small town lost more than that. When supervisors abandoned their posts to attend the town’s annual holiday dance, a tragedy claimed the lives of five miners. The sole survivor, Harry Warden, was institutionalized, but returned for a vengeful massacre on the disaster’s first anniversary. Nineteen years later, the town is gearing up for another Valentine’s Day party.
The 1981 version of My Bloody Valentine is currently streaming on MGM+ on The Roku Channel, while My Bloody Valentine 3D is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.Brandon Schreur has been writing about comics, movies, television shows, and all things pop culture for roughly five years.
