The menu should help ease the cravings of homesick New Yorkers as well as others who've lamented the absence of real New York-style bagels in Jacksonville.718 Bagel Time will offer about 15 different varieties of bagels daily as well as freshly made cream cheese schmears. The bagels are made and boiled in the Bronx then delivered to 718 Bagel Time where they are baked daily, Letchus said.
"We make all the cream cheeses so there are Blueberry, Strawberry, Honey Pecan, Maple Walnut and Brown Sugar. In the fall we do pumpkin spice and things like that," he said. Savory schmears include Scallion, Jalapeno, Dill Pickle and Veggie, according to the menu.The restaurant's signature sandwich — Chopped Cheese — was inspired by those popular at New York City bodegas.
Another of the 718 Bagel Time's signature sandwiches is the Bando, a breakfast bagel featuring steak, egg, cheese, roasted red peppers and smoked gouda, he said.
