Apple iPhone 14 leaks have already revealed some surprising design changes

Breaking things down, The Elec explains that LG will be providing Apple with “low-temperature polycrystalline oxide thin-film transistor OLED panels” for the first time, with Apple keen to reduce its reliance on Samsung. The Elec also explains that the panels all support 120Hz high refresh rates.

A telling line from the report sees The Elec describe the hardware as “LTPO TFT OLED panels with hole-in display technology, where there is a hole at the top side of the panel for the front camera.” This aligns with an earlier leak from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who Apple had found a way to embed the other sensors used in Touch ID under the display. Kuo also said Apple is looking to extend the tech to all iPhone 14 models “if product yields allow”.
