Demand for COVID-19 home tests could exceed supply as more Americans try to screen themselves before the holiday season. Retail chains like CVS say they have restocked home test supplies. But experts warn that a winter surge could overwhelm inventory.

Tests have been freely available in Germany for months, and cost the equivalent of about a dollar per test. The US_FDA screwed around in test approvals here, and we are stuck w a small number of vendors w expensive tests. It’s infuriating.

If you’re vaccinated who cares. It will be less than a common cold. Move on.

Many home testing kits explicitly note that they are not useful for testing anything but symptomatic COVID for vaccinated individuals. If people are using these to check asymptomatic vaccinated people for COVID they are going to have a bad time.
