COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A new dog park opens in Colorado Springs this week.will host a ribbon-cutting celebration at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in downtown Colorado Springs.
The ribbon cutting is free and open to the public and will include giveaways from Downtown Partnership and Pikes Peak State College. Dogs are encouraged to attend, but must remain on leash unless inside the dog park fencing., Antlers Dog Park includes two separate play areas — one for small dogs and another for larger dogs.
The park also features a large fence with double gates, synthetic turf, a sitting area, play amenities and a dog water station. “We are excited for the new Antlers Dog Park and the many benefits it will provide to the Colorado Springs community,” said David Deitemeyer, Trails, Open Space and Parks Senior Program Administrator. “We are dedicated to ensuring that all members of our community have equal access to our parks, and this project is a shining example of that commitment.
