SAN DIEGO — A local murder case recently captivated the world, and now a new documentary is set to be released about former TikTok personality andIn May, he was found guilty of first-degree murder in the deaths of his wife and her friend. It takes a deeper dive into the case by revealing more about the Abulaban’s marriage, and the impact domestic violence and social media had on it.
The trailer teases never before seen interviews and videos, revealing Ali Abulaban's online persona and rising fame, as well as the real story behind his seemingly perfect marriage to his wife Ana. “They just went to San Diego, seemingly had everything, financials as well. And you're going to see how it fell apart, and you're going to see the dark side of social media, and that not everything is what it seems on social media," said Kelsey Christensen, a former San Diego news reporter featured in the documentary.
Christensen covered the case from the beginning in October 2021, when Abulaban killed his estranged wife Ana, and Ray Barron, a man she had been seeing."We did a 45 minute interview, and how he was in court during the trial is kind of what I saw firsthand," Christensen said."His emotions, you know, just were up and down and it was almost an outright confession, just based on the conflicting stories that he told me.
"There is a point where facts are stranger than fiction ‘TikTok Star Murders’ is next level you have to check me out," he said on an Instagram post.Abulaban will be sentenced June 28.
