Cleveland St. Ignatius captured its fourth consecutive Division I boys soccer state title by beating New Albany 2-0 on Nov. 12 at Lower.com Field.

New Albany boys soccer coach Johnny Ulry recaps a 2-0 loss to Cleveland St. Ignatius in the Division I state final Nov. 12 at Lower.com Field.New Albany boys soccer coach Johnny Ulry partly agreed that the Eagles gained confidence from holding three-time defending state champion Cleveland St. Ignatius off the scoreboard throughout the first 56 minutes of the Division I state final Nov. 12 at Lower.com Field.

“I sensed that from our guys when we got on the bus this morning,” Ulry said. “We wanted to compact the middle since that is where their strength is. We were able to stymie them a little and prevent some through balls. We had to grind and use our grit.” “Our defense has been great, especially over the past couple games. A lot of teams haven’t done that against them, and the midfield did a great job tracking their runners,” Eagles defender Spencer Chadwick said. “You could tell they were a little flustered. They weren’t used to getting shut down like that. I could feel the momentum shifting in our favor … and I thought we could capitalize. But knows how to deal with that. You saw a different team come out in the second half.

Making sense of the midterms: What voters are trying to tell Albany and WashingtonThe red wave narrative that fueled Republican expectations largely failed to crash ashore, but victories involving congressional seats outside of NYC could secure GOP control of the House. On The Peoples Guide to Power, experts discuss the midterm message. There’s a typo in the article - it says seats were flipped from red to blue. Should be blue to red. The Cuomo wing of NY politics is as Republican as can be without being honest enough to register as Republicans and they cost us the House.
