Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak donated his first check to the state's public schools, making good on his campaign promise to donate his salary until public education improves

Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak donated his first check Wednesday to the state's public schools, making good on his campaign promise to donate his salary until public education improves, his office announced.

The Democrat's total salary is $163,474, his communications director Helen Kalla told CNN. In a letter to the Nevada State Board of Education, Sisolak promised to give his salary each quarter to the Nevada Department of Education's Education Gift Fund. "I asked the people of Nevada for the chance to lead this state for many reasons, chief among them being the opportunity to improve educational outcomes for every child in every classroom in the state," Sisolak wrote.

fordnation LisaThompsonMPP please note.

What is he doing to actually try & fix education

Never trust a pol who acts generous

Really Governor, over 230,000. Kids !!!!!!

Grandstanding seldon makes for good leadership and is never a substitute for effective institutions. Let's wait and see if his is the exception that proves the rules.

Money is and never was the problem with our schools, it is the liberal minds that pretend to be teachers of the subjects they are supposed to be teaching.

That’s great but realDonaldTrump donates all his salary to different organizations and you’ve never once made an entire article about it. I wonder why 🤔

public education will never improve with money poured into it, it is the union and government standards, we already pay more per child than any other country that we lag behind, money is not the cure, its the people in charge

Great,exemplary!

Trump has been donating his for 2 yrs and not once has your network said a damn thing about it... WHY

Get rid of the unions. Then you will see improvement.

Funny, when Trump does it, it's all negative press and spin, Sisolak does it, it's a headline.

Trump donates his check too but you won’t see any stories about that on cnn.

Now that's true leadership

It's a shame that Nevada couldn't find a gov who doesn't need to rely on meaningless publicity stunts to get attention.

Just a small point but this is how you spell Cheque! School boy error for CNN. 🙄

Half a billion- cost to servants in legal fees of Muellerosity. Now $1000/hour became a standard for DC Lawyers. D House in Congress want to continue harassment & bankrupting public servants. Radicals are hateful ThursdayThoughts BREAKING NEWS -Biden's Secretary posted: in2020

Right on.

It's a start!

Good for him! Our governor in Illinois, J.D. Pritzker (D), is under investigation along with his wife....

Has anyone checked to see if Trump is still donating salary?

'What's shocking, is teachers have no idea. Teachers unions collect about $5 billion tax-free every year from teachers - and they use that money to put their social, sexxual, and political agenda into our schools.' No Agency Fees!

Looks like he won't be taking any salary for the foreseeable future then.
