This is a reach, but if the show literally shows the CYOA brand name and concept in the show and didn't clear the rights to use of the name, they could get in trouble.

Fuck netflix

Gimme a break.

“Choose Your Own Adventure” book publisher sued by real life over choices over ones own adventure.

I started off trying to help the character but then my decisions for him took a bad turn.

You can't count the phrase 'Choose Your Own Adventure' they didn't invent the concept and I've seen plenty of other choose your own adventure horror books. This lawsuit is Noth ng more than making themselves relevant again.

I didn't think you can copyright this. Video games have story branches & a few movies were released a while back with the story branches too. I even tried to write my own 'Choose Your Own Adventure' - 'Spinning Dagger'(not finished)

I really hope this does not work. This would be an egregious example of how the IP laws in this country have started to prevent innovation rather than protect it.

Chooseco? Never heard of this lot. I thought out was going to be Steve Jackson when I read the Post's tweet.

This feels like a money grab more than anything

The way that the show has the ability to change its target audience from one episode to the next gives it a great way to spice up or twist the direction way they want take. I am very selective with what I watch, as well as critical. A few that I found to be most disturbing

This show is absolutely great, and pays an homage to many shows like it ( 'The Twilight Zone', 'The Outer Limits', ' Are You Afraid of the Dark?' and ' Twin Peaks'.

Miss me with this mess, here!

Want to sue? Turn to pg 45. Can’t believe people remember your books from the 80’s? Turn to pg 63. *sneaks peek at pg 45 “you are laughed out of court-“* *quickly turns to pg 63 as if nothing happened

No! I can only watch a few minutes before I think accidentally hurting the poor kid. I need a regular few episodes that I can watch brainlessly.

LMAO

Netflix Sued Over Alleged ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ Trademark InfringementThe publisher of the “Choose Your Own Adventure” book series sued Netflix, saying the streaming company’s recently released interactive film “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” used the series’ trademark without permission. Netflix going downhill fast. The only original programming from Netflix that I've enjoyed. I hope they lose. Too broad. No way you can have a patent on deciding how a story plays out- all video games wouldn’t be able to exist then. But of course, Netflix will settle and the choose-your-own-adventure people will just go on to sue someone else. I wish Netflix would fight
