To maintain its status as a streaming staple and sustainably fund international growth, Netflix will have to focus content spend in Western markets:

Business Insider Intelligence Oscar nominations. The company will release its Q4 earnings next Tuesday, and we expect solid subscriber growth given the success of year-end shows like "You," "The Witcher," and movies like "The Irishman."

Even though most of Netflix's subscriber growth comes from non-domestic markets — APAC in particular — it isn't expected to spend big on content in high-growth regions. Netflix has more or less hit reached saturation in the US: In Q3 2019, Further, company execs have said they expect the service's next 100 million subscribers to come from India as well as Southeast Asian, per The Information.
