Per Variety, Netflix is currently in development on a JFK limited series that could potentially fill the biographical drama void left by the end of The Crown. The show will be based on the 2020 Fredrik Logevall biography JFK: Coming Of Age In The American Century, 1917-1956. Killers of the Flower Moon co-screenwriter Eric Roth is attached to write and executive produce the project, which will trace the life of former President John F.
A Brief History of JFK Onscreen The life of JFK has been a popular subject for dramatization, as it is full of sensational historical figures and lurid incidents. This includes his marriage to Jacqueline Kennedy, his alleged affair with movie star Marilyn Monroe, and his assassination by Lee Harvey Oswald in 1963. As such, elements of his life and his death have been portrayed in more than two dozen different movie and television projects in the decades since his death.
In fact, Netflix itself has dramatized the life of JFK multiple times already. He was portrayed on the streaming service in the Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde , the fallout of his assassination provides the setting for the time-traveling Umbrella Academy season 2, and he even appeared on The Crown season 2, as played by Michael C. Hall.
