I watched the film. I didn’t enjoy it. I wish I did. I wanted the story to focus more on the family drama which was more interesting to me. The dancing was purposefully to make you uncomfortable and highlight just how disgusting it is. It doesn’t glorify it in the slightest.

This outrage reminiscent of Kids from Larry Clark/Harmony Korine. Shocking depiction of kids in NYC doing drugs, having sex, one young girl gets HIV, barely a teen. That film was bleak AF, but spoke to a dark reality. I haven't seen this film so can't compare beyond the outrage.
