NCAA Postseason: OSU women's team earns No. 2 seed, men's team accepts NIT slot

The women's team, which won the Big Ten regular season championship, earned a No. 2 seed and will play 15th-seeded Maine on Friday.The Buckeyes and Bears will tangle at the Schottenstein Center at noon, in a game that will be televised on ESPN. The winner will advance to face either 7-seed Duke or 10-seed Richmond on Sunday, also at The Schott.

Should Kevin McGuff's squad win two games at home this weekend, Ohio State will advance to the Portland regional the following weekend. On the men's side, the Buckeyes played their way onto the fringe of the bubble, if that's a thing, by winning six of their final eight games under interim coach Jake Diebler. OSU will play Cornell in an NIT game Tuesday at the Schottenstein Center. As a 2 seed, the Buckeyes could play another home game next weekend if they can beat the Big Red. A second-round matchup with either Virginia Tech or Richmond would await.
