There are myriad issues and alleged violations for NCAA investigators to examine at Arizona, including:
Last week, federal prosecutors played a surveillance recording of a meeting on June 6, 2017, in which Dawkins talks about Ayton and says Miller told him,"I'm taking care of everything myself. I wanna bring you in. I'll turn everything over to you." Former financial adviser Marty Blazer, a cooperating witness for the government, was present at the June 2017 meeting and testified last week that the reference was about Miller"taking care" of payments for Ayton.
* In July 2017, Richardson asked for an additional $15,000 from Dawkins and Sood to give to the mother of 2018 recruit Jahvon Quinerly of Hackensack, New Jersey. Richardson said he planned to make three payments of $5,000 each and would also pay her $10,000 of his own money. * Other allegations of rules violations surfaced during an October federal criminal trial, in which a jury convicted Code and Dawkins of bribery charges in a pay-for-play scheme to steer recruits to Adidas-sponsored schools. Brian Bowen Sr., the father of five-star recruit Brian Bowen Jr., testified that Dawkins told him that then-Arizona associate head coach assistant Joe Pasternack offered $50,000 for his son to sign with the Wildcats in the spring of 2017.
Fake news
Lies...
It’s about time don’t you think
Hey ESPN, are you guys hiring reporters? I would love to apply, guarantee I could do a better job than the unethical staff you currently have...
SCAM
Espn will do anything to kill the Arizona program. Stop with this hate!
Keep trying, dingle-berries....
About time!!!
Ass faces where do you guys get your info. You people are the CNN of sports.
Hey Schlabach we're still waiting dor those taps with Miller's voice implicating his $100K payment to Ayton..Ostensibly Dawkins' defense would have used it strongly in their defense but only crickets...Looks like Book's words were the tap you got your story from. Shame shame!
ESPN correct your article and Media news on incorrect info AGAIN on Miller & University of Arizona! Unbelievable how terrible you are to fact check what you report! LEAVE OUR COACH, TEAM, UNIVERSITY ALONE! 🖕🖕🖕
Can y’all report anything right anymore
Embarrassing journalism. This has already been going on. A simple google search will tell you that. Such a joke. And why can’t your boy Mark_Schlabach tweet out his own stuff still? Hmm
not according to the actual University. FakeNews
when will the NCAA open an investigation into LSU for doing the same exact thing?
Damn, y’all are desperate
This happened like 5 months ago for real. Did you know we landed on the moon and the Berlin Wall fell down? ESPN is the most click bait organization on planet Earth. Where is the article about Auburn, USC, and Oklahoma State?
And the 20 other schools named in that trial?
Oh look, more bullshit...
🤔
Just start paying the players. They deserve it.
Yet another inaccurate article. retraction
Once UNC got off with no penalties there really isn’t a reason to have rules any more
The great ESPN is printing lies again. Last year Schlabach wrote about a conversation between Miller and Dawkins never producing a tape or giving us a transcript. Now he running with a quote by an unnamed official written by a third rate reporter at a paper that hates Sean
Please post today’s official release from University of Arizona official release today. Mark Schlabach and ESPN owes U of A an apology for running with an article that sites an unnamed official that U of A is under new investigation. This is a lie. Disclose official named
But.....but.....where in Gods great earth is this tale your own Mark_Schlabach claims exhists? Can we please get an answer on this? Where is it? Oh and by the way the NCAA has already been involved. Just because you all act on he said she said bull shit don’t mean they will!
The hot garbage reporting from Espn continues. Such a disgraceful organization these days.
Arizona has issued a statement correcting your report. JFC, your coverage of them has been a disaster. You’re supposed to have the best writers out there and you consistently get simple facts wrong.
Liars
EspnBias
And yet nothing will happen to them
What?!
Where have you been? It's been on for about 60 days.
UtahManPodcast No kidding....
“We have found no wrong doing in Arizona, however, a player at Colorado State ate spaghetti with money he found in the street that we believe belonged to a booster and as a result will lose 4 scholarships a year and will forfeit postseason play for 8 years”
This isn’t new news, the investigation has been going on for awhile now...
ESPN reports the NCAA has started an investigation in Arizona. This has been going on for a long time. Guess what? Nobody ineligible yet, no games vacated, no proof of infractions so far. ESPN is FakeNews FactsMatter
Hilarious that espn would put an article out today about something that was confirmed 2 months ago. The type of hard hitting accurate reporting we’ve come to love. weresthetape?
Miller right now...
This is not new. Been going on for months
Great!!! The NCAA will eventually rule that Arizona will have to vacate all its NCAA disappointments!
I woulda played for AZ too! 10k a month! Sign me the FUCK up!
Mark_Schlabach any corrections or addendums to your original bullshit story? Was Haney or Dawkins your source? Going to look real stupid when this turns out to STILL be nothing but smoke.
Sigh. You can always tell the uninformed sheep that only fall for and read click bait headlines and know nothing whatsoever about what is actually going on. For those who are aware, just ignore these idiots. There is nothing to be gained from arguing with lemmings.
You leave unethical Mark_Schlabach on this story despite his disgusting lies in February 2018, and you continue to get things wrong because Mark has the world's biggest grudge now. You need to remove him from this story immediately and put someone with ethics on it.
DevilsDigest Rats going down.
pantherrants This should make no one scared, the NCAA has no balls
Bye bye Sean. I hope the prisons in the Arizona have air-conditioning.
Miller is gone.
DevilsDigest That's a shame 😂
NCAA and FBI, along with the Unjversity itself has been doing this (and finding nothing) for a year now...nice “reporting”
About time
Ok so lie, and do not comply whatsoever and you will get a slap on the wrist
Been on campus ayton fully cooperated u ESPN hacks are desperate. redemptiontour
So we should expect to see their findings in 2022 when Sean Miller is living in St Lucia and deandre Ayton is making $25 mil a year.
It’s hilarious that you write articles based on perjury testimony of a conman street hustler and 0 evidence beyond the hearsay.
Surely Mizzou will receive a basketball season ban from this
Words of advice to Arizona...deny everything and don’t cooperate. You will probably get if unscathed. Don’t be like Mizzou and be honest, helpful and forthcoming and then get punished. NCAA, you SUCK!
this was launched in March. Guilty until proven innocent right ? Where are the wiretaps proving Miller's guilt you promised everyone
Words of advice to Ariz
Penalties coming
Dunno what they expect to find that they didn’t find nearly two years ago when they investigated them then.
How badly will Mizzou get punished for this?
Bye bye Miller.
University also discussing changing their official cat from a wildcat to a lion or cheetah.
BearDown
they’ve been investigating them for over a year... this isn’t news
Wow, what type of undercover, secretive shit is this? Why would anyone want to look into Arizona?
That news is about as old as this meme
For once get your facts straight... PLEASE!!!!
They launched it in late February 😂😂😂 Way to be on the ball!
Thet have been investigating them since February
This has been known for a couple months.
Well let us know when he’s fired cause it’s always drama and tampering in the college basketball spectrum
Not good news for Missouri during their appeal, someone needs to pay for this NCAA MakeItRight
Independent attorney Paul Kelly declared in response to the initial ESPN report that there is “not a shred of evidence” that suggests Miller or Arizona paid Ayton, which “federal investigators and NCAA officials have acknowledged.”
They should wait until next March when Arizona loses in the sweet 16 with Nico Mannion and Jeff Green, two lottery picks. Then an investigation makes more sense because of how Miller just can’t win big games in March. If I’m a zona fan I’m more interested in that.
What were they doing before?
but very funny how pay out money to Zion's mother story buried... bully coach k buried... buying players for one and done buried...
There’s a new sheriff in town.
NCAA will let them off. The new reality. Just confess and say well we gave money to other regular students. Worked for UNC. Just don’t give out money for books. That will get you on probation.
DevilsDigest Somewhere Lute Olson is shaking his head. Recruits, go to ASU. Up and up program.
Well.. obviously 😆
Take your L and move on
💥
Lock em all up... this is supposed to be amateurism. Shocking... !
JasonScheer look who finally caught up. But this one will be right up their alley cause evidence (or lack of) isn’t needed to make headlines, pretty sure they just read Twitter.
niccolomannion josh_green6 TerryTerry25 ZekeNnaji_Hoopz kolokochristian
Keep looking for proof Miller did something, because there isn’t any. Rouge assistant doesn’t mean the entire program is bad. Just because a felon says something on tape doesn’t make it true. Proof is nowhere to be found.
Yeah hopefully this is the door cracking for the same NCAA investigation into DukeMBB KentuckyMBB UNC_Basketball OregonMBB
Small investigation.
Why bother we know college basketball is semi Pro just let it all go
After a thorough investigation we the NCAA found no wrongdoing by head coach Sean Miller or the Arizona basketball program because blueblood
Arizona should be ranked in the top 10. But ESP(CN)N and their biased news wont admit it
This is old news, they've been on campus for months... they didn't just 'launch' an investigation.
NCAA is going to investigate! Shocking!
There’s still an Arizona Daily Star?
The NCAA needs to do an investigation on themselves
Fake news
KGorman_Trib No way! Moorehead State will pay.
Wow, only a YEAR after the entire world knew about this 🤦♂️... now do Kansas, NC b-ball, and Clemson, Georgia, Tenn football that we all know about.....
Sullivanmarcusr See ya Ace
Suggest the government lunch an investigation into CEO using the NCAA for left political purpose!
DevilsDigest
Nobody's on top of it like the NCAA
You also stated: despite ESPN reporting in 2018 that Miller was caught on a wiretap discussing paying $100,000 to Ayton, no such recording has been played in either trial nor referenced in any government pleading. The only recording that allegedly links Miller to illicit payments
If you did what you did with Silvio I expect double even TRIPLE the punishment here
Nothing breaking here. Just a local reporter that is behind and stating something that had been known for a couple months.
Shoney25 😌
ESPN’s own article acknowledges that the NCAA investigation has been on-going since at least March. Yet of course they make it sound as if it just started on the heels of the Dawkins testimony.
LSU has been mentioned in every breath with Arizona on this matter. Is LSU protected with Emmett and Woodward?
How about we start with the obvious ones
I’ve said it for more than a year and will keep saying it...Sean must go. Whether guilty or just guilty by association, the program will be tarnished for as long as he’s the head coach.
Big Blue! Cal, u mass , memphis, Kentucky? Surprise, Surprise!
He tried to pull a Bill Clinton 'I did not have monetary relations' The NCAA:
Trust me y’all, get him out and start over, they won’t leave you alone until you do. —Louisville fans.
oregonbornduck Live look of the “investigation” 😂😂😂😂
Keep sticking with Sean Miller and it will be much, much worse for the University in the long run. Coming from a Louisville fan, cut your losses and start over. Hard at first, but well worth it.
ZekeNnaji_Hoopz gophers would still love to have ya
COYBLucas Sean Miller getting arrested
Now it launches the investigation?
Wait what happened lol.
How much does an average year cost at one of these D1 schools? Value of an athletic scholarship? Per year and total?
Death penalty?
🤦🏻♂️
NCAA has been investigating ZONA and many others for quite sometime. Nothing new here except a chance for ESPN to dig again into ZONA and put it in the spotlight. Old news.
This is gonna be bad! Feel bad for the fans!
Somebody’s gonna get fired!!!!!!!
UCF needs a check up
Thought things were setting up nicely for Luke Walton to get this job. Crazy how things work out. Putting a pin in this.
Sad Ayton had to take a pay cut to play for the suns
*clears throat* aheeeeem -----
Was it an official release by the university. Who is the individual Bruce Pascoe is quoting since you are using Bruce as a source. Have you contacted NCAA for a confirmation? Also I don’t see an official release from Arizona. The person was not a confidential source?
This guy at Arizona cheats so much he makes Caliperi look like a choir boy
I think JonThomasTV had something to do with this...
this dude been investigated for months now. The program is irrelevant, just fire everyone already.
Joe_Putrelo Rut ro, Scoob
Odds the NCAA says they find nothing?
All is repeating the same crap again, they are trying to do everything to back there false article, everyone already knew the NCAA is investigating, did u actually think they wouldn't. They started over a year ago.
They need to investigate Duke, Kansas, Gonzaga, Mich St, N. Carolina... but above all, ESPN needs the most investigation of its own on “defamation for ratings”...
I don't understand how a once poor person can get a substantial amount of money and turn around and bite the hand that once fed him/her while poor? You would have to be as dumb as a brick !!!
I am not a close follower of NCAA bb unless it is march, but I don't recall Arizona being that good anyway ?
Only took em 3 fuckin years
What took so long?
Bring on the transfers ✅
Death Penalty
This isn’t new? Timing on this article is...interesting
Crawford_A GD1492 haven’t they been under investigation for like 5 years
NCAA needs to investigate Alabama football
“Corrupt organization opens investigation into potential wrongdoing”
