'will kick-off on Saturday'

“Grab your chairs and blankets and join the National Park Service for an evening filled with family-fun and FREE, live music at the Fort Dupont Park Summer Event Series. The 50th Anniversary season will kick-off onYou won’t want to miss this year’s lineup of local and national R&B, jazz and go-go musicians. The series starts on Saturday, July 30 with Sirius Company, Be’La Dona, The Soul Searchers and DJ Rico.

“The National Park Service is thrilled to celebrate 50 years of music and gathering with friends and family for summer concerts in Fort Dupont Park,” Tara Morrison, Superintendent for National Capital Parks-East, said. Save the date for the rest of this summer’s concerts. We’ll announce artists soon for the following dates:These free, public events, hosted live at Fort Dupont’s outdoor amphitheater, are an annual celebration that invite Washington metropolitan area residents across generations to enjoy incredible music from national, regional and local artists. The National Park Service continues to honor the series’ tradition of bringing people together for culture, community and connection.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and live performances begin at 7 p.m. for all concerts. Tickets are not required. There will not be a concert on Saturday, August 6.You are invited to bring family and friends, lawn chairs, blankets and food. Grills, glass bottles, coolers and alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the park.
