In this case the US dead are collateral damages. We put ourselves in the middle of a civil war that is none of our business. The targeted casualties are the hundreds of Afghans killed and injured in this attack.
20 years? I hate that people have somehow forgotten that we've had our hands in Afghanistan since the 70s, we literally funded and gave weapons to terrorists because we didn't like the fact the commies were taking over the area. This has been our fault from the get go.
