Texas’ attorney general has accused the nation’s largest egg producer of price gouging during the coronavirus pandemic.

A lawsuit filed Thursday by Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton alleges that Cal-Maine Foods raised generic eggs price by 300% even though the pandemic hasn’t disrupted its supply chain, theCal-Maine denies the allegations, saying its prices are based on independent market quotes.

After Gov. Greg Abbott’s state of emergency declaration in March, Texas residents scrambled to stock up on groceries and supplies. Eggs, among other staples, were in such high demand that many stores imposed limits on how many cartons each customer could buy.

COSTCO ADMITS TO DOING THAT ON THEIR WEB DELIVERY PAGE

Sure, why not? It's the American way. Nothing wrong with greed, right? (Note: sarcasm intended)

Well, to produce eggs requires costs, which have also increased.

The pandemic has exposed faux supporters of free markets. When they work in their favor -- cheaper products as consumers or higher wages as workers -- they support them. If eggs are too expensive for your liking, buy alternatives.

I would like to know this! Eggs in Alabama have been almost 3.75 a dozen.

I've seen it at my local grocer.

Navajo Nation Sees High Rate Of COVID-19 And Contact Tracing Is A ChallengeContact tracing is critical to slowing the spread of COVID-19, but it's tough for the Navajo Nation, which has the third-worst outbreak in the U.S. With persistent health inequities and poor infrastructure, it's hard to get to those who might be infected. It's almost like systemic racism, genocide, theft, and corralling a people into remote areas without giving them the tools to build a life has negative consequences for those people. The Native Americans have been screwed over ever since the pilgrims arrived. They should get special treatment and extra funds for help with whatever they need. Will never happen.
