Students at Naperville’s Neuqua Valley High School received two awards at the Halloween Student Silent Film Festival held Oct. 18 at the Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove. The students won “Outstanding Achievement in Cinema” and the “People’s Choice Award” for their submission titled, “Hiding in Plain Sight.” “What I am most proud of in ‘Hiding in Plain Sight’ is the students’ collaboration and commitment to the story,” media instructor John Gelsomino said in a news release.

An open house being held Nov. 11 at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn will provide prospective students with information on academic programs, career offerings, financial aid, counseling and student life.
