Naomi Judd wrote about her battle with depression in her 2016 book, 'River of Time: My Descent into Depression and How I Emerged with Hope.'

Early on in the book, in a dedication, Judd wrote that"even in the darkest days" of her battle with depression,"I was never blinded to the compassion from my beloveds who continually reached down with loving hands and lifted me out of my harrowing nightmare of despair," she said.

She also said that"just when we were cresting the top of the show business world, in 1990, doctors told me that I had only three years to live." Judd, the Kentucky-born matriarch of the Grammy-winning duo The Judds and mother of Wynonna and Ashley Judd, has died, her family announced Saturday, April 30, 2022. She was 76.She was declared free of the illness in 1995.She said her life was filled with"interesting people, different scenery, new things to learn, and exhilarating events.

Naomi Judd died near Nashville, Tennessee, according to a statement on behalf of her husband and fellow singer, Larry Strickland. It said no further details about her death would be released and asked for privacy as the family grieves, The Associated Press noted. Naomi Judd was the mother of both Wynonna Judd and Ashley Judd.
