New Jersey's total confirmed and probable deaths from the coronavirus pandemic topped 33,000 on Saturday.

“As coronavirus moves from pandemic to endemic, and as we transition away from crisis management to a more normal way of life, it is the right time,” Murphy said of ending his briefings.

New Jersey, a state of 9.2 million residents, has reported 33,005 COVID-19 deaths in that time — 30,037 confirmed fatalities and 2,968 probable fatalities. That total is akinthe fourth-most coronavirus deaths per capitaBut Murphy and other officials of late have told residents the pandemic is in a much different place now, with New Jersey’s vaccination rate among the highest in the nation and medical experts having a much better grasp on treating the virus.

The statewide transmission rate increased to 0.83 Saturday, up from 0.77 Friday. Any rate below 1 indicates the outbreak is on the decline with each new case leading to fewer than one additional case. Officials have said it’s too soon to know how the variant will affect both the state and nation.

GovMurphy told us zero cases were the goal. Hmmm

Work around tons of people everyday- never hear/ see ANY of this from anyone.

Thank you for these daily updates. They have been very helpful. I’m sure you don’t hear that enough based on the comments that usually accompany these posts. It’s a shame how these past two years highlighted the even more harmful epidemics of ignorance and lack of civility.

'as states shifts from pandemic to endemic' lol at politicians manufacturing biological reality by fiat
