My Son’s Dad Died And A Mean Comment From A Classmate Destroyed Us Both

It reopens wounds that will never close, for grief is a part of him … and he’s only been grieving for a little over one year.And, while you’re at it, please teach your kids to say something if they hear another child being verbally assaulted. If not for the courage of my son’s friend, I have no idea if this would have ever come to light. My son was worried I would “lose it” if he told me because I love him so much.

It’s important we see those kids. It’s important we advocate for those kids. It’s important we support those kids … kids like mine.

Despicable. Just despicable. If I ever heard that one of my kids had said such a thing ( they would never but just pretend ) I would have read them the riot act, dragged them to the child's home and made them apologize and then made them do community service like volunteering.

I’m in shock that a 4th grader would even know how to use those words in that context!

Also a reminder to tell children that children who make such comments are seriously damaged and we should pity them.

Wow the kid who said that is a jerk, no matter his circumstances 💔

They are. Adults are , too.

Damn. A child can be so cruel.
