.) When I found out I was pregnant, I immediately felt a state of shock, followed by one of panic and fear. No way was I ready to become a mother! I selfishly wanted my husband to myself and a life without kids for a while longer. I knew that having a baby would change everything . . . I just wasn't ready for such a drastic change so soon.
Although I struggled with the notion that unlike everything else in our lives, my pregnancy was not planned, I knew I wanted this baby with all of my heart. I always wanted to be a mother, and my husband and I were thankfully at a point in our lives where we could start a family. Our relationship was solid, we had wonderful jobs with, and we owned a nice house in a quiet and family-friendly neighborhood.
. I talked to my husband about how I felt, and he reassured me that everything was going to be OK — and it turned out, he was right. Having a baby brought us so much closer in ways I never dreamed. Becoming parents helped us see each other in a whole new light. Watching
