Dear Care and Feeding: The crop tops need to go.

My daughter-in-law “Ayanna” is a wonderful wife to my son and loves my grandchild “Kaya” very much. She is a sharp woman with so much respect for me and my husband, and she gives us time to be involved in our granddaughter’s life. But I’m worried about one aspect of how she’s raising my grandchild.

I talked to my son about the Instagram channel, and he said that he doesn’t always agree, but she makes money off it. He has a good job, and they are not hurting for money. Lately she is dressing Kaya in bodysuits, miniskirts, and crop tops. The clothes are tight and uncomfortable for play, and I don’t think Kaya should be learning to pose and dress like that at her age.

I would suggest appealing to your son first and reminding him that there’s never a permanent “delete” button on the internet. Creepy people and people with nefarious intent will be able to view these videos of his precious daughter from now until the end of time. Worst of all, this poor child doesn’t really have a say in any of it.

50 years ago, the Munich Olympics massacre changed how we think about terrorismThe Munich Olympics massacre was the first time a terrorist incident was viewed globally during a live broadcast as it unfolded. The attack woke up Western governments to the threat of terrorism — and set the stage for future violence. And here, white supremacist nazis tried to do the same to elected members of Congress on Jan 6 and we have done nothing. Hell, I’m not sure I’d ever heard the word “terrorism” before that day. Was that 50 years ago!! Oh hell...I'm getting old.
