Twitter owner Elon Musk tweeted Thursday that he would be granting ' general amnesty ' to suspended accounts beginning next week after he issued a poll over whether the social media platform should restore impacted accounts.

“Should Twitter offer a general amnesty to suspended accounts, provided that they have not broken the law or engaged in egregious spam?” Musk asked in the Twitter poll, which allows any users on the website to offer their input.The final results of the poll showed 72% of users voted in favor of amnesty and gained responses from more than 3 million accounts.
