Elon Musk has promised to clean up Twitter by showing the world why it boosts some tweets above others and purging it of automated accounts. But Musk himself has been a beneficiary of mechanized boosting, researchers say.

But Musk himself has been a beneficiary of mechanized boosting, researchers say, including through

of posts. Some experts are pointing out that Musk himself probably has millions of “fanbots” among his 91.3 million Twitter followers. Bots can drive real-world behavior in multiple ways, increasing popularity or encouraging direct abuse by humans. “It just creates a pile-on,” Glaser said. “When it looks like everyone is doing it, it’s easier for one more person to do it.”Musk’s multifaceted activity would attract spammers without any help from the man himself, and there is no evidence he sought or coordinated their actions.

But it is reasonable to wonder whether a Tesla contractor or subcontractor is responsible for some of the pro-Musk tweets, says University of Maryland professor David Kirsch, who this month will present the first of three papers examining bot influence on Tesla’s fans and share prices. The main other class of suspects would be “individual shareholders or pro-Tesla individuals who have the tech skills to do this,” Kirsch said.

Apple and Amazon have comparable levels of bot activity, Kirsch said, but those boosters were more likely to include other stock symbols and refer to wider market movements, whereas Tesla pumpers were more likely to refer to Tesla products, or Musk, or the specific company’s prospects.

So? If he can get rid of the bots, then I’m all for him

JeffBezos, these Twitter hit pieces are just sad. I know you are the one telling these paid stooges at WaPo to write these articles, but they just come off as as you throwing a tantrum. elonmusk is a well-liked billionaire, something that you wish you were, but never will be.

BudGothmog44 You expected a billionaire to play fair?

“Researchers say”. LOL

Who cares if he’s benefitted?

Doesn’t make it right

This is his latest tweet. Do you really think this guy is in control of his own faculties?

We are not bots. We love our Teslas & believe in clean energy, making life multiplanetory & we love Elon. We feel compelled to fight the FUD for the good of the planet.

Boosting? I have yet to see him with a jetpack

Why the “but” in this headline? The “but” kinda implies that he’s hypocritical and had the control to boost his posts

Notice that since the SCOTUS leak, no one is talking about Musk. He will need another stunt to get back into the headlines.

Why does Jeff Bezos have such a vendetta against Elon Musk? These anti-Elon articles by the Washington Post are simply embarrassing. Can't two billionaires get along?

So you convict Elon Musk for buying Twitter at 44 billion dollars so he can get 90 million subscribers? Think your math through. This would be an extremely expensive way to boost popularity. Of course, the Washington Post is envious of competition. Has bezos doing?

And he’s against it Leftists are losing their mind they are losing control over social media

How Elon Musk Won TwitterThe social-media network was expected to reject the Tesla CEO’s offer, but its bankers called the bid fair and said the company could struggle to get there on its own. Since much of his Tesla and manufacturing business is in China, it could mean more Chinese propaganda on Twitter. Musk has praised China in the recent past, and no so-called free speech warrior would praise China. 'По блату' when you're the richest man in the world you have no risk when you broke rules
