OZARK, Ala. - The D.A. Smith Career Exploration Center is nearing completion, and so is a mural honoring the school’s namesake.It shows part of the school’s history and the future of this new center.
Ozark City Schools superintendent Reeivice Girtman says the center, which was once an eyesore, is undergoing a much-needed upgrade.”D.A. Smith is a historical site here in the city of Ozark. So, as we look at recognizing the past and the history of this school, we have to do that because it is a part of our legacy,” Girtman explained. “We are trying to focus on careers and early education for careers, so you will see the sixteen career clusters that are going to be painted on this mural.
