Municipality says the Davis Park encampment will be abated on Friday ANCHORAGE , Alaska - The Municipality of Anchorage is set to begin the abatement process of a homeless encampment at Davis Park on Friday, according to city officials.
Jarvis Wallace, who lived in Davis Park over the winter, said police directed him to park at the recreation site.Wallace claims he hasn’t done anything wrong and has tried to keep the camp clean, but agrees some of the structures built at the park have become unruly. Veronica Hoxie, the communications director for Bronson, said the municipality is allowed to act on illegal camping.
Eric Glatt, an attorney cooperating with the ACLU of Alaska, disagrees with the municipality’s reading of the federal appeals court ruling.
