Now a new study scanned the brains of children 3 to 5 years old and found those who used screens more than the recommended one hour a day without parental involvement had lower levels of development in the brain's white matter -- an area key to the development of language, literacy and cognitive skills.Higher screen use was associated with less well-developed white matter tracts throughout the brain.

I totally disagree, my 5 yo grandson has been using a tablet since age 3 he's one of the smartest kids in his kindergarten class, this is his 1st year and he's already reading, writing and doing simple math😁
The study isn't large enough and confuses correlation with causation. They don't have any idea what they're talking about. This is just confirmation bias because it started with supporting a policy conclusion and look, it does. Notice they didn't look at all screen time.

Children with speech deficits tend to be overusers of screen because they have a reading learning style, not a conversational or Socratic learning style. Over use of screens is indicative not causal, similarly book readers could be said to be developmentally slow. Laughable study
