Movie armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film 'Rust,' is facing up to 18 months in prison. Her sentencing is scheduled for Monday in a New Mexico state court.

FILE - Hannah Gutierrez-Reed , the former armorer at the movie"Rust," listens to closing arguments in her trial at district court, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in Santa Fe, N.M. Gutierrez-Reed has been incarcerated at a county jail ahead of a scheduled sentencing hearing, Monday, April 15, 2024, on a involuntary manslaughter conviction.

Defense attorneys for Gutierrez-Reed requested leniency in sentencing — including a possible conditional discharge that would avoid further jail time and leave an adjudication of guilt off her record if certain conditions are met. They say the 26-year-old will forever be affected negatively by intense publicity associated with her prosecution in parallel with an A-list actor, and has suffered from anxiety, fear and depression as a result.
