Mother’s Day rolls around this weekend, or so I’m told. To me that means planning to eat at home on Sunday because all the restaurants will be filled with families taking their matriarch out for a good meal. In fact, the whole weekend is probably shot restaurant-wise, as some folks won’t wait until Sunday.

Not long after I returned, Mother’s home in Baton Rouge sold and she moved back to Dothan. During these endeavors, Mother would sit nearby and “supervise,” getting a long, uninterrupted visit, which is what she really wanted. The completion of the task was simply lagniappe.
