Mother and child dead after being hit by a possible intoxicated driver in Stone Oak neighborhood, SAPD says

SAN ANTONIO — A young child and a woman believed to be the mother were killed Wednesday night when they were hit by a driver who authorities say lost control while speeding around a curve, according to officials. San Antonio Police Department Spokesperson Ricardo Guzman called it a"tragic, tragic incident" that unfolded on the 20500 block of Stone Oak Parkway on the far north side. Police responded around 8:15 p.m.

A KENS 5 crew on the scene observed a dark-colored sedan with visible damage at a standstill in front of Canyon Ridge Elementary School. Guzman said the victims were in a designated crosswalk when they were hit, and the child in a stroller.
