The study confirms a pattern of systemic racism in policing, predominantly burdening communities of color, the study's co-author Eve Wool says."Even when unarmed, Black Americans experienced disproportionately high levels of police contact, even for crimes that Black and white folks committed at the same rates," Wool told ABC News.
Black males commit over 50% of all homicides and robberies in the US (FBI crime data) and make up about 6-7% of the population. So 3.5 times more likely to be killed by the police is way less than what you’d think it would be.
