Davida Conover, mother of a 13-year-old girl whose videotaped arrest in St. Paul, Minn., has sparked an angry backlash on social media, poses for a photograph, Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, at the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota office in Minneapolis. Conover told The Associated Press that her daughter is "no angel" but was treated unfairly by police.
The AP does not generally identify family members by name when doing so could identify a juvenile charged with a crime, but Conover has spoken publicly and does not share her daughter’s last name.of the Sept. 26 arrest at a UPS store in St. Paul, Minnesota, that shows three white officers struggling to arrest the girl as she screams and thrashes on the floor.
“And she’s only 13. You know, she’s not 30 years old. She’s not a man. They were aware of her mental illness, so they could have honestly did things way differently,” the mother added.
If everyone knew the girl had mental issues (as the mom stated), why was she allowed to go about like nothing is wrong with her? Where were the people who knew how to handle her? Either take care of her, get help for her, or keep her home. Seems simple to me.
Maybe if this woman weren’t such a complete failure and loser as a mother, her thirteen year old child would have no contact with the police.

The kid did not get mistreated.
Break the law, get arrested. The police did nothing wrong.
Show the part where she attempted to flee & scratched & punches the officer. It took 2 to subdue her.
What happened before this? Why was she being arrested?
She was violating an order not to trespass. She fled across the street when an officer attempted to arrest her and she violently scratched and punched him. It took two to hold her down and a third to handcuff her because she would not listen to them.

We ate dinner across the street from the gas station she was banned from tonight. The police swooped through 2 times during our meal. I wouldn't want my 13 year old child browsing that area without me at anytime of the day or night. Drug dealing, prostitution and sadness there.
So we have no context here. The story doesn’t really explain why the police were called to this place and what led up to them being required to use force to gain control.
What is a 13 year old doing to get them banned from a gas station.
